The tale of the vicious zip

Last Friday I bought myself a new top, very smart, from Next, which I decided I’d wear for a photo shoot Dave and I were participating in the next day at The Studio in Whittlesey – which you’ll get to see soon!

The day started well and the first set of shots went very smoothly. We then had to change our outfits, so we could have a set in a more casual type.

Uh oh. I couldn’t get the zip undone on my new smart top. Dave tried, the photographer tried, they even got some pliers out to try and free the zip, all to no avail. With their hands all around my neck, and the appearance of the pliers, I was starting to feel strangled and somewhat panicky. They tried to help, but in fact their efforts were making things worse.

A drive to Next in Peterborough was needed. After a somewhat convoluted explanation to Suzanne, the manager, she had an attempt at freeing the zip – no success. Then, she asked me “What do you need me to do?”

“Could you just cut it off please?”

She fetched some scissors and did just that. Then, she found me a replacement top, double checked the zip and I went back to the studio very happy.

The moral of the story?
